After We Collided: A Toxic Love Story

By: Ava Rogha

If you’ve read our previous review on After (2019), we can gladly tell us that we have seen the sequel and we liked it!

The second movie After We Collided (2020) picks up from the first one’s cliched ending.

It is set a month later and Hardin (Hero Tiffin) and Tessa (Josephine Langford) are “happily” living their separate lives… at least for now!

If you haven’t seen After already, check out our review here to familiarize with the storyline and the main characters! I hate to spoil it for you, but as you can already guess, the two lovebirds split at the end of the movie.

However, already from the beginning of After We Collided, you will notice that they miss each other immensely.

"My Tessa would never kiss a stranger."

The second movie focuses mainly on Tessa’s new internship at “Vance Publishing”. You will meet a new and more mature version of the girl, who is determined to impress her manager and colleagues.

However, her love life ends up getting in the way yet again when Hardin shows up at her door. And of course, an intoxicated and excited Tessa lets it get the best of her.

But don’t worry, it doesn’t stop there! The two are on and off for the most part and even though it’s hard to keep up with their drama, I’m sure most of us can agree that the perfectly fitted duo’s relationship is toxic and based mainly on lust.

Another important person you will be introduced to is Trevor (Dylan Sprouse), Tessa’s new colleague, who catches romantic feelings for the girl. He’s smart, funny and all Tessa needs in her problematic life, but of course, he’s not Hardin Scott...

"Let me ask you this; are you in love with him?"

After We Collided is relatable, funny and dramatic. Tessa is your typical college girl, who just so happens to have captured a bad boy’s heart. Although we root for the couple to end their drama once and for all and rather live a problem free life, we are continuously fed dramatic events that come in between the couple.

This is yet another Hollywood movie, where a series of unrealistic events happen right before our eyes and they’re just too good to be true. Tessa goes from being barely visible to becoming the most adored girl amongst men in the matter of a few months. If that wasn’t enough, how often have we been granted important internships during our first year at college and attended big fancy parties?

"She makes quite the impression."

On a positive note, this movie keeps you busy for a good two hours and you will not feel bored at any point throughout! It’s got a couple humorous moments in-between all the drama, and is overall a fun movie to watch with friends.

Additionally, it’s got a great cast including Josephine Langford and Hero Tiffin, who are perfect for the roles of Tessa Young and Hardin Scott. You will also meet new familiar faces including Dylan Sprouse, famously known from The Suite Life of Zack and Cody (2005 - 2008) as Tessa’s colleague, Trevor.

"I am never gonna leave you."

We simply can’t get enough of their toxic romance and we’re impatiently waiting for the third and fourth movies to hit our screens as we can confirm they are currently in production!

We can already see the major improvement from the first movie, so believe it or not, we’ve got high expectations!
