Five of the Most Memorable Lines From Gossip Girl

By: Ava Rogha

If you’ve seen and loved Gossip Girl (2007 - 2012) like we have, then I bet you have some lines stuck in your mind that you just can’t forget!

We have dug up some of the most famous and our personal favorites that we would like to share with you!

And if you’re a fan like we are, then we can bet you already know most of these by heart.

1. “Gossip Girl Here, Your One and Only Source Into The Scandalous Lives of Manhattan’s Elite.”

If you’ve ever watched Gossip Girl at all, you have definitely heard this famous line by Kristen Bell. Although we all know who the real Gossip Girl is by now, Kristen Bell’s voice at the start and end of each episode threw us off and fooled us into thinking Gossip Girl was a girl.

But if you grew up watching the show like we did, then you have probably memorized this iconic line by now and every time someone mentions the show, this will be the first thing you think of!

This one-sentenced line is enough to introduce newcomers to the show, so if you haven’t watched the show yet, I can promise you that it will be an introduction into the scandalous lives of Manhattan’s Elite!

2. “Three Words. Eight Letters. Say It and I’m Yours.”

This line is by far one of my favorite lines ever mentioned in a TV show!

When Nate (Chace Crawford) and Blair (Leighton Meester) break up due to the drama surrounding him and Serena (Blake Lively), Chuck (Ed Westwick) starts showing some interest in Blair. And to show his devotion, he votes 150 times for Blair to win the Prom Queen crown that she was dying for.

But unfortunately, he was not as good at confessing his feelings for her, which left her confused and distressed.

So after playing games for a while, Blair finally asks him to confess his love for her. This gesture is super brave and only shows that she knows her worth and is tired of coping with his “hot and cold” games. Especially knowing Chuck’s personality, who has a record of playing girls on a daily basis.

3. “Whoever said that money doesn’t buy happiness didn’t know where to shop.”

I bet you’ve heard this famous phrase by now, but how accurate is it?

Most of us can agree that money does not buy everlasting happiness, but it certainly can buy us temporary happiness through dining with friends, going to fairs and just like Blair’s example, buying some new clothes!

We may not be able to shop at the most expensive stores in the Upper East Side, but even a little Primark shopping spree can compare to Blair and Serena’s luxurious shopping as long as it brings us a bit of happiness on a rainy day!

4. “I’m not a stop along the way. I’m a destination.”

This is yet another famous quote by Blair, who is struggling to trust people after the luck she’s had!

This empowered woman is not afraid to tell them like it is and she sets a great example to young viewers of the show who are struggling with their self-esteem.

Gossip Girl clearly presents her growth throughout the show and how she started off as a girl who lived under her best friend’s shadow, but managed to develop as a young woman who’s been through a lot, despite the wealth.

5. “Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to get drunk enough to make you all seem interesting.”

This super relatable quote was said by Georgina Sparks (Michelle Trachtenberg), whom we know as the homewrecker of the show.

If you’ve watched the show, you know how stressful it was to see her ruin relationships and plans. However, I must admit that some of the most famous and relatable Gossip Girl lines ever, were said by her.

I bet a lot of us can relate to this famous quote about attending the most boring parties that we wish we could spice up somehow. And normally, alcohol seems to be the perfect solution… At least for a short period of time!
