Five TV Series To Watch This Fall

By: Elena Donatone

Fall is almost here, once again.

The weather will get colder, leaves will start falling from trees and our all-time favourite cinnamon and pumpkin drinks will make their way back to us. And so will some of our favourite TV series, alongside exciting new ones!

Although the pandemic delayed filming and productions for many shows, these five lucky ones are going to land on our screens before Christmas time!

1. Ratched (September 2020)

This new and upcoming psychological thriller will hit our screen on September 18th!

Starring the great American Horror Story actress Sarah Paulson, Ratched is created by Evan Romansky and it is a prequel to the famous novel and film One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest.

The show will follow the origins of the asylum nurse Mildred Ratched (Sarah Paulson) and her journey through the mental health system and its very dark side.

Only days away from its release on Netflix, I simply can’t wait to binge this new series, which I’m sure will become quite successful and loved among American Horror Story hard-core fans.

2. Emily in Paris (October 2020)

Set to premiere on October 2nd on Netflix, this new comedy drama created by Darren Star, is one of the most anticipated drama series of the fall!

Starring the amazing Lily Collins as Emily, Emily in Paris follows a young American woman who moves to Paris thanks to her job in marketing.

The series explores her new life in the city and the professional and personal relationships she creates along the way.

From the same creator as Sex and the City, we are sure this new fashionable drama will be just as addictive and funny as the previous one! And it is set in the everlasting romantic city of Paris, what more could we ever ask for?

3. Big Mouth (October 2020)

On the same day as Emily in Paris (October 2nd), we will be lucky enough to get the fourth season of the irreverent and scandalous animated sitcom Big Mouth on Netflix!

The new season, from the creator Andrew Goldberg, will be just as funny and shocking!

The characters will all be back once again, with the amazing voices of John Mulaney and Nick Kroll as our beloved and awkward Nick and Andrew.

We already know they will be going through changes once again and we can’t wait to laugh and get embarrassed alongside them this October!

4.The Haunting of Bly Manor (October 2020)

After the very successful and amazingly written The Haunting Of Hill House, the creator Mike Flanagan is back to present us a brand new story with brand new characters, but a few familiar faces!

The Haunting of Bly Manor, based on Henry James‘ The Turn of the Screw novella, will follow the story of an American nanny, played by the beloved The Haunting of Hill House star Victoria Pedretti, who gets hired to take care of the kids who live in the mysterious Bly Manor.

Although season one was a masterpiece, I’m sure this new season will be just as addictive and spine-chilling!

Tune in on Netflix on October 9th to binge it straight away!

5. The Crown, Season 4 (November 2020)

The much anticipated fourth season of the popular The Crown will land on Netflix this fall!

Always starring the talented Olvia Colman, we will once again immerse ourselves in the glamorous and scandalous world of Queen Elizabeth and the royal family.

This new season will focus on Charles (Josh O’Connor) and Diana’s (Emma Corrin) relationship and troubled marriage, and we will even get introduced to the popular and highly respected Prince William and Prince Harry!

The fourth season of The Crown is surely moving towards more modern times and it has been confirmed the following fifth season will officially be the last!

Tune in on Netflix to rejoin our beloved royal family on November 15th!
